CAREER

Our studio came into being in 1986 and since then we have built our career in architecture and interior design, both within and outside the country.

From 1989 to 1991, Patricia Chechik worked for the New York studio Gwathmey-Siegel in diverse types of projects. Among them, we can highlight Guggenheim Museum’s expansion, Zumikon residence (Director of Switzerland’s Museum of Modern Art), Steven Spielberg’s house, Robert Siegel’s residence remodeling and Fogg Museum’s addition.

Back to Buenos Aires, in 1992, the studio put up buildings as developers of our own construction sites and third parties’ construction sites, single-family houses in the suburbs and private neighborhoods, and interior design in houses, apartments and offices.

Participating in 1999, 2000 and 2001 editions of Casa FOA allowed us to produce our own line of housing equipment, which had a great impact and turned us into a local interior design benchmark after our spaces were published in different print and television media.

In 2002, crisis encouraged us to explore our career possibilities and, until today, we have designed, produced, exported and installed a lot of designs in Miami, New York and Chicago. Many of them were manufactured for luxury condominium developers or private clients.

During those years, we concurrently engaged in intense activities in the local market. Our participation in Casa FOA in 2004 and 2007 editions was published by different national and international media—always featuring distinguished spaces.

With the intention of being in constant update and growth, Michelle Brukman, graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, joined the staff of Brukman & Chechik in 2014 and has shared her own style, creativity, and talent ever since.

After taking part in several Casa FOA editions and having felt the repercussion of our proposal in both local and foreign markets, we took the challenge, together with Live In, to respond to the increasing demand of solutions that the market requests through their typologies from an interior design perspective.

We believe that Live In is an opportunity to boost Brukman & Chechik Architect’s image through a new space and to link that image to the most exquisite features of interior design.
